The following stories have been nominated for submission to the Legacies archive. Please read them carefully, and then place your vote.

As you read, keep the following thoughts in mind.

  • Not every story nominated will be to your particular taste. If you're a strict Harm and Mac shipper, please don't read stories that are clearly labeled as Harm/Other or Mac/Webb or any other combination that you find distasteful unless you feel you can objectively evaluate the story's quality.

  • This project is not intended to be competitive. Feel free to vote "yes" on every story you see here if you feel they all deserve to be part of the permanent collection. Each story should be evaluated on its own merits - not on how well it compares to the other nominees that appear on the site during the same time period.

  • If you're an AOL user, and you find you're not allowed to vote, please email your votes to us here. Use the story title and your vote (yes or no) in the subject of the email, and send a separate email for each story you wish to vote on. This email address is for voting purposes only and will only be checked once a week. The vote by mail option is a last resort only available to AOL users as it will take considerable time for the Legacies team to tally votes submitted this way. If you have questions or comments about the site as a whole, please send them to our regular address using the "Contact Us" button on the left side of this page.

    The Stories

We recently posted the following poll question on this page:

If you see a story on the Legacies nominees page that you don't like, are you more likely to vote no?  Or not vote at all.

Of the 337 people who responded to the poll, 137 people said that they most likely wouldn't vote at all.  That's 41%.  Legacies cannot fulfill its mission of archiving the "best of the best" in JAG fanfiction if our readers aren't honest.  Please vote.  Remember, it's anonymous.  Nobody will know which button you push.

    A Ghost Story

Classification: Angst, Romance (Mac/Harm) Rating: GS, Length: 25,000 words (64 pages in MSWord), Spoilers: Anything from Season One through Season Ten. Also this is very loosely based on the story told in the movie “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir.”

    From the Nomination:

"This is a lovely story of love existing between Harm and Mac even though they just miss one another in life.  It is loosely based on the movie "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" and MKim writes a lovely story of two people meant to be together no matter what happens."

    Poll Opens:  06/06/07

    Poll Closes:  06/20/07

    Broken Hallelujahs

Classification: JAG Story, Angst, Romance (Mac/Harm) Rating: IM15 , Length: 25,000 words (62 pages in MSWord), Spoilers: Smoked,” “We The People,” and late season-7 eps, especially “In Country” and “Enemy Below”

    From the Nomination:

"The author's characterization of all the characters, especially Bud, was so realistic.  Just a well crafted story all around."

    And...

"First, I love Aerogirl's writing, always have.  This story deals with Bud's injury in a sensitive and compelling way - each character's thoughts and emotions are fleshed out wonderfully.  She makes them come alive on the page."

    Poll Opens:  06/06/07

    Poll Closes:  06/20/07

    Like a Horse and Carriage

Classification: Romance (Mac/Harm) Rating: GS , Length: 1,500 words (5 pages in MSWord), Spoilers: Through the series finale.

    From the Nomination:

"One of the most beautiful Harm and Mac wedding stories I've ever read.  It's just the way I picture it: simple and subdued.  If I had to describe it in one word, it would be 'perfect'.  Just perfect."
